What do I do at a network login prompt?

If you're getting a window similar to one of the window's below....

OR

 

.. you may enter your Network logon and password, if you know it.  This is the same login information as you use to log into your computer at work.  See the FAQ below for information on how to get this information.



IF YOU ARE ENTERING YOUR CREDENTIALS AND GETTING A CREDENTIAL AUTHENTICATION ERROR MESSAGE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW SO YOU CAN BE ADDED TO THE APPROPRIATE SECURITY GROUP.

Please contact the National Help Desk at (888) 457-4872 and and follow the instructions below.

1.

At the voice menu choose the option for "New Service Request", typically #8.

2.

Tell the Help Desk Agent exactly...

" I need to open a Service Request to be added to the Citrix PTA User Active Directory Group and the ticket needs to be opened to the EO SD NSA AD group. " 

Please TELL the Help Desk Agent what CTI (Category, Type and Item) should be used:

Category: Application Services
Type: PTA
Item: Security Access - Active directory

Please specify that this is URGENT.  YOU MUST ALSO PROVIDE YOUR CURRENT NETWORK LOGIN ID AND DOMAIN.  Please view the next FAQ if you do not know how to get this information

How do I find my network login information?

1.  PRINT THIS SECTION

2. On your keyboard, press your Ctrl, Alt, and Del keys simultaneously.  You should see a screen similar to the one below, depending on your operating system

3.  Your Network Domain is followed by your Login Name. ie: DOMAIN / usermane

4.  Click Cancel to close this box and return to your desktop.

What do I have to do if my network login is in the BRKFDC or FRK-FNS-KP Domain?

If you're located in Berkeley and your network login is part of the BRKFDC or FRK-FNS-KP Domain, you're probably going to be prompted for your network credentials.  If you encounter a login box like one of the boxes below, enter your info below..

BRKFDC Users

1:You'll need a CS Domain account.
 - You may have one and not know it. Give the Help Desk a call and ask them to look up your NUID in the CS domain list.
- If they cannot find it, ask the Help Desk Agent to open a service request to have a CS Domain account created for you.
